Greetings! It’s TechnoMomma!

I have been really busy working to have a clear understanding of what I am doing with local mobile marketing. I am not only reading everything I can set my eyes on—written and video—I am attending webinars all over the place.

This is what has come of that: A business I can do. First, helping a small business owner see that this is their bridge into the next technological wave of the future. It reminds me a lot of when I was telling small businesses that they needed to be on the web. I was selling them the future at a time that they had barely gotten into dial-up modems (no Joke: I have actually been on the internet for more than 30 years).

Last summer I was sitting in a beautiful Greek restaurant in Berlin. I was having dinner with a young couple from New York. We had gotten together to talk about our underground music label (my other passion). Musically what they wanted to talk about was disco. Having been there in the time of Disco, I was able to answer a number of questions for them. The conversation then turned to the internet and they actually said “the internet didn’t really start until 1994, right?” Of course, I laughed really hard. I wanted them to know this was not true. What they saw was the day big business finally got a clue about the internet and began to take notice of it.

This is why the young among us believe that the internet started then. I explained that by 1994 I had been on the internet for 21 years. I actually have been on the internet for 39 years in all. (just to be clear on the facts and numbers here is how that happened. While in college I spent a great deal of time doing research. At the time research labs and libraries where able to share information using ARPANET.)

FYI The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET), was the world’s first working packet switching network and the core network of a set that came to compose the global Internet. The network was funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the United States Department of Defense for use by its projects at universities and research laboratories in the US. The packet switching of the ARPANET was based on designs by Lawrence Roberts of the Lincoln Laboratory.

–From Wikipedia, “ARPANET”

That was the fall of 1973. Since that time I have seen, been a part of and watched the internet transofrm. So when I say I know what I am talking about, I have experienced a big part of this as a student, sales person, small business owner, teacher and guru.

I say all of this to put the right depth and understanding on what I am saying to you here. The future is in your hand—literally, your smart phone [MOBILE]. We use it for everything: SMS, phone calls, and especially when we are looking for something to buy. We check Google to see what it is we want, we compare pricing, we compare manufacturers. We always check to see where things are located. Whether we are at home on the desktop or on the road, we look for the closest place to buy something. Most people want something [LOCAL] in their own neighborhood. This cannot be ignored by any small business. If you want to grow your business then you need more traffic to your front door.

I have made it simple, I do all the work with weekly check-ins so that you get all the business and benefits of those connections. You can actually work on your business and not the [MARKETING].

Because I am a small business myself, I needed to prove that it works. if I am to do this with any confidence, I need to start with me [TechnoMomma]. I have revamped my website. I added a mobile site. I have done the necessary SEO and social networking with TechnoMomma.

It works. And now I have a few more clients that are keeping me busy. For my education I wanted to know if this works and how to help others.

My client companies are in the music industry, event planning, wholesale import/export business, mental health, body health and martial arts. While I am on my learning curve I am working closely with a couple of restaurants with my special offer (http://www.technomomma.com/specialoffer)

It is simple and gets you started with creating the perfect storm. And that will bring more business to your front door.

Talk with you soon.

I am TechnoMomma and this is my first blog. I have thought about what I should write about. What would make me stop and read, such as, what really captures my attention? What really works? What would make you pay attention to my message and me so that I can help you—a real win/win deal?

The story I tell in my history is true—it is what led me to this particular business. I pulled out my smart phone, looked for something and the rest, as they say, is history.

After that discovery I have been in pursuit of what really works: how small business could benefit from local mobile traffic. Is it true 80% of small business customers come from within 5 miles of their business? If this is true, then why aren’t all small businesses doing great in this economy? Could I figure out what is necessary to drive that traffic to those business? I decided to find out. People who know me, know that when I want to know something, I pursue it with everything I have.

I have been very busy learning all that I can about local mobile marketing. I found the basics on the web in a few classes and then began to do more and more research. My first customer was me. I did all things necessary to get TechnoMomma listed in her own local market. This was very frustrating. I thought it would be instant, but it took between two and four weeks to get on the first page of Google, up to five weeks to get in the local mobile market. I am still not on the organic listing for a number of keywords. I will keep working at this the mobile SEO.

I did this using a variety of keywords, edging TechnoMomma slowly but steadily up. I learned that to stay at the top, the effort has to be continual. I learned the hard way that you will slip if you don’t pay attention and instead only get 9% or less of the responses you want to be at the top. Having the top spot will get you 42 % of the leads and really that is what maintenance is all about. After the set up and you get that blast of customers… you want to keep them coming.

You maybe wondering why would I tell you my process and how easy all of this is when what I want to do is to sell you a service that does all this for you? Think about it: why use your valuable time doing this when I can? And now that I’ve done it, I’ll just get faster and better. It is a large effort to keep up what we will do for you. When you are in the number one spot in your rankings, it has to be maintained to keep that ranking. Hmm… think about that for a moment: do I have the time and knowledge to keep my business at the number one spot on Google and more search engines to keep the flow of traffic to my business at the level I want to be profitable?

So, the next thing I am going to do is help businesses I know to get more traffic and leads for them at a reduced rate. If you are interested in being one of my beta sites please send me an email telling me what your needs are and give me a paragraph of why I should choose you.
